a wound
vermilion
a fire
smothered
by miles, years,
distances and
dreams
deferred
desires
stirred
by words
and images
when she heard
him
say her name
enough times to make her
want to come to him and
then will they stand
faces turned in
the north wind
chanting their sin
of not having
believed enough
in love
